Springs, arrangement of and mounting undercarriages on; equalizing load on wheels and springs.-A spring suspension for vehicles comprises two leaf springs secured intermediate their ends to wheel axles, two like ends of the springs being connected to the vehicle frame and the other like ends connected by shackles to an additional leaf spring connected intermediate its ends to the frame. In the case of tandem axles comprising a pair of steering axles at the front on a pair of driving axles at the rear of the vehicle, the additional spring may be replaced by a rocker pivoted intermediate its ends to the frame. As shown, the springs 7, 9 are secured by clamps 6 to axles 3, 4, their front ends being pivoted in the same horizontal plane to brackets 8, 12 on the frame 2. The rear ends of the springs are connected by shackles 16, 17 to the ends of a spring 13 pivoted at 15 to the frame 2. The axles are preferably disposed nearer the rear ends of the springs 7, 9, which preferably lie in the same horizontal plane under normal' load.
