Springs, arrangement of; equalizing load on springs; guiding vertical play.-Relates to spring suspensions, particularly for perambulators and light vehicles, but applicable also to heavier vehicles, in which each of the two axles is connected to the vehicle by. rigid links and is spring- pressed in a direction away from the links. The links are short ' compared with the distance through which the spring or springs act, so that there is a comparatively large angular displacement of the links while the spring or springs remain substantially in the same horizontal plane. As shown, the suspension is applied to a perambulator in which the axles A are connected together by springs D, and the links a, a<1> extend in opposite directions and are pivoted to brackets b, b<1> on the frame B, the body being supported on springs C, C<1> carried by the brackets b, b<1>. The links may be rigidly secured to the axles as shown, or the links carrying each axle, may be connected by a transverse torque tube or bar adjacent or surrounding the axle. The tube or bar may have torsional elasticity.
