Springs and wheels, arrangement of; equalizing load on wheels. - Relates to road-vehicle suspensions in which two road wheels are mounted side-by-side on the same side of the vehicle so as to be free to move oppositely in the vertical direction while having joint spring-controlled movement. Each wheel a, a<1> is carried by a rearwardly extending arm c, c<1> pivoted independently at d, d<1> to the frame b, the arms being differentially connected to the frame to permit movement in opposite directions. The wheels are preferably arranged one slightly in advance of the other. The differential connection comprises a pulley h connected to a spring, and a cable, g passing around-the pulley and connected to quadrants f, f<1> on the arms c, c<1>. The pairs of wheels on each side of the frame may be connected to the ends of a transverse spring or, as shown, to a pair of such springs k, l with or without volute shock absorbers n.
