Abstract

457,089. Vehicle spring-suspensions. RENAULT, L., 8, Avenue Emile Zola, Billan. court, Seine, France. July 1, 1936, No. 18275. Convention date, July 12, 1935. [Class 108 (ii)] In vehicles particularly six wheeled vehicles two or more adjacent wheels on each side are carried by parallel linkages which also comprise torsion spring rods so interconnected as to form the suspension of the wheels and also a load equalizing device for the wheels. The rear driving wheels 1, 2 are carried by linkages 3, 4, 31, 4<1> of which the arms 32, 42, Fig. 3, of the upper and lower linkages of the respective wheels are secured to the ends of torsion spring rods 5, 61 the adjacent ends of such rods being provided with arms 20, 22 which are interconnected by a link 21. The remaining arms 3<3>, 43 of the linkages are rotatably mounted on the torsion rods while the other linkages 31, 4 are mounted. on shafts 5<1>, 6. The front steering wheels are mounted on an axle 14 provided with a transverse leaf spring 17 and provided with a frame 15 which is pivoted at 16 at the front of the vehicle. Fig. 4 shows an arrangement in which also the front driving and steering wheels are provided and in which the lower links are connected to torsion spring rods 26 provided with arms 30, 32 interconnected by a link 31.
