Abstract

209,145. Green, H. Sept. 29, 1922. Belts.-In a link belt for use with grooved pulleys, the pivot pins connecting flat metal @inks arranged side by side, are of leather, fibre, wood or like frictional material, the ends of the pins protruding to form the driving faces or having attached thereto pieces of similar frictional material for this purpose. In the form shown in Figs. 1 and 3, pairs of links a secured together by rivets or screws a' alternate with single links of similar shape, the pivot pins b being merely a close fit in the holes. A multiple arrangement of links is shown in Fig. 5 in which the pins b do not protrude but have attached thereto by screws c, gripping pieces b<1> of similar material, preferably circular in share and of slightly largerdiameter. In another form, the gripping pieces comprise extended plates each secured to a pair of pins. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of pivot pins of cork, balata &c.
