Belts of the kind comprising operative links with side members or pads of leather g secured together by screws n and adapted to hold between them metal connecting links f are modified by the provision of tubular projecting pivots h upon the links f. The pivots h are pressed into annular grooves in the pads so as to engage these pads over a large surface. The pads may be reinforced on their inner faces with metal plates engaging over the tubular pivots.
