Abstract

265,290. Kneller, W. H. Nov. 4, 1925. Channels in chains.-In a driving chain comprising inner links having side plates A connected by hollow bushes B carrying rollers C and forming bearings for pins or rivets E connecting the side plates D of adjacent outer links, openings F are provided in the plates A adjacent the bushes to allow oil to pass from the rollers tu the contacting surfaces of the plates A, D and thence to the pivot bearings. The openings F may be distinct from the circular openings receiving the bushes. As shown in Fig. 3, recesses F<1> may also be provided in the ends of the bushes, adjacent to the openings F.
