Abstract

284,848. Renold, Ltd., H., and Jenkins, H. G. Jan. 14, 1927. Carriers, attaching to chains.-Conveyer attachments are secured to the blocks of block chains, the blocks being secured in the alternate inner links between their side plates which are connected together by bushes in which the pins of the outer links turn. The blocks are shaped so as not to interfere with the gearing engagement of the bushes with any sprocket wheel. They may be retained by the side plates engaging in correspondingly shaped recesses h in them. For securing the attachments, horizontal or vertical holes k, Figs. 3 and 8, may be formed in the blocks, or perforated lugs l, Fig. 7, may be provided. The tops of the blocks may be flat, or provided with projections m, Fig. 8, at either pair of opposite edges. To enable the blocks to be secured after the chain is assembled, they may be formed in two parts o, p, Fig. 12, united by a screw q, which may also serve to secure the conveyer attachment.
