111,824. Champney, R. P. Sept. 25, 1917. Belts.-A V-shaped driving-belt consists of alternate metal links and links of non-metallic material which will not stretch, such as fibre, faced with leather. The metal links 2 are placed between pairs of fibre links 5 and have pivot pins 4 projecting on both sides through holes in the links 5 into sockets in the leather pieces 6. Spacing-pieces 10, Fig. 8, which may be cut without waste from the strip of material from which the links 5 are cut, are placed between the ends of adjacent links 2 and are fastened to the side pieces 5, 6 by bolts 8 or rivets 21. One or more bolts 8 are used to enable the belt to be opened.
