Force-feed lubricating.-To regulate the supply of lubricating-oil to an internal-combustion engine the oil is supplied to annular passages around the bearing bushes of either the cam-shaft or crank. shaft, each annular passage having its inner periphery eccentric to its outer periphery, whereby the effective minimum cross-sectional area of the passage may be adjusted by rotating the bush in its housing. A rotary pump A driven by the cam-shaft B supplies oil through passages D to annular passages e around the bearing bushes E, E<1> of the cam shaft, holes e<1> leading oil to the shaft. Oil passes from the grooves e to outlets e<2> and falls into wells f supplying the bearings cf the crank-shaft G. Oil issuing from the crank. shaft bearings is caught in channels H and delivered centrifugally to the big-end bearings K.
