Abstract

Process for renovating a timber door or window comprising the fixing of an insulating glazing panel using a first section forming a groove to receive the panel and a covering sheet for the part of the external face of the original frame where residues of glass and mastic remain, characterised in that a cladding frame is fixed to the said external face, which frame consists of lengths of a second section 2 which is mitred together to form an upper crosspiece and two uprights which partly lap the covering sheet of the first section 1 for mounting the insulating panel, and of a length of a third section 3 which is fixed at its ends to the bases of the said uprights to form the lower crosspiece of the frame, the third section being throated and covering the throat on the original frame, the said cladding frame being fixed to the original frame using clips screwed into it and hooked to mouldings which are on the inner face of the second section.
