Description

The present invention relates to chassis fixed, in particular door opening frames or window, usually comprising a frame formed of metal profiles assembled at the angles of this frame, in which is mounted at least one panel, glazed or no, applied against a joint in the bottom of a rebate open formed by the frame profiles and maintained by a return parallel to the panel, of the battered type or glazing bead, also fitted with a seal bearing against the face outside of the panel, near its edges peripheral devices.

In a solution of this kind, which the opening comprises one or more juxtaposed panels, some of which may be fixed to constitute a transom or the like, and other mobile, swiveling, tilting or sliding, the chassis has at least one horizontal crosspiece at the lower part of the panel, towards which the water from rain or other, which streams on the external face of the panel, flow by gravity.

Due to manufacturing which is not always perfectly adjusted, but leave games more or less noticeable, these waters can infiltrate annoying way between the seal carried by the return of maintenance of the panel and the external surface thereof, and penetrate inside the profile which constitutes this crosses.

It is therefore necessary to evacuate these waters out of the crosses.

For this purpose, it is known to form in the sleeper, in particular in the external face of this one or several openings through which the water, collected in the sleeper, can flow outwards and thus evacuate without stagnating in the chassis and risk of deteriorate it, or even cross the upper edge another panel located below the first and in this case, go inside the room closed by opening.

These openings are made by machining the profile constituting the crosspiece and are sometimes associated with deflectors which partially mask them, these deflectors acting like a swinging flap, making it possible to avoid entrances to the crossing of external waters under the effect of the wind or rain hitting the sign.

For information, you can specifically refer to French patent 94 02342 of 1 March 1994, on behalf of the applicant, which illustrates an embodiment of this kind.

We can also note that the seal carried by the return which keeps the panel in the rebate of the chassis, is not continuous but on the contrary is partly interrupted, both to satisfy mounting requirements in the frame formed by the profiles of this chassis but also to balance the pressures between the interior and the outside of the rebate which receives the panel, allowing the passage air, but possibly also that of runoff water.

These openings, with or without a deflector flap, are visible from the outside of the chassis and therefore break the uniformity of the frame, which introduces a defect that is sometimes very immediately noticeable in the aesthetics of the chassis.

We also know, from document FR-A-2 477 213, a window frame comprising a flexible water drainage tube, of which the upper end is mounted by means of a tubular nut on the bottom of a profile and the lower end of which passes through an opening of the visible face of the profile, this hole being protected by a device storm guard made of hard plastic.

The subject of the present invention is a device for draining seepage water in a fixed frame, in particular a sash frame door or window that prevents the presence of such openings in the external face of the sleepers, while allowing efficient evacuation of these waters and a balancing of pressures on both sides of the panel housed in the rebate of the chassis.

To this end, the door or window frame according to the invention comprising a horizontal lower cross member formed by means a metal profile which delimits an open receiving rebate at least one panel, glazed or not, held in the rebate by a vertical return directed upwards, fitted with a seal applied from the outside against the panel in the vicinity of its lower edge which extends parallel to the crosspiece, the latter comprising, in the extension of the vertical return, a beat directed downwards, characterized in that it comprises a drainage nozzle forming a channel of water flow, mounted under the cross member and immobilized against the inner surface of the battue, this nozzle being fixed under a opening in the metal profile of the cross member behind the vertical return, so that the seepage water, collected in the rebate under the joint carried by this vertical return, cross this opening and flow into the nozzle under the cross member, behind the battered directed down.

Grâce à ces dispositions, la zone de drainage des eaux d'infiltration, située derrière le retour vertical et la battue qui prolonge celui-ci vers le bas, est invisible de l'extérieur du châssis, ce qui permet de préserver l'esthétique de celui-ci.Thanks to these provisions, the water drainage area infiltration, located behind the vertical return and the battering that extends this down, is invisible from the outside of the chassis, which allows to preserve the aesthetics of it.

According to another characteristic of the device, the nozzle comprises plus an open passage that runs parallel to the flow channel seepage water, between the battue and the second panel, this passage to balance the pressures in the rebate, between inside and outside.

According to another characteristic also, the nozzle comprises a groove for receiving a sealant, making it possible to seal the connection between the nozzle and the opening of the metal profile of the crosspiece.

According to yet another characteristic, the nozzle comprises advantageously two lateral legs each having a heel in projection, clipped into a groove on the inner surface of the battue to fix the nozzle on the battue.

Other characteristics of a device for drainage of infiltration water in a door or window frame, established in accordance with the invention, will become more apparent from the following description of an exemplary embodiment, given by way of indication and nonlimiting, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
  • Figure 1 is a schematic front view of a fixed frame, in which the horizontal crosspieces, located at the lower part of glazed panels, have discharge openings visible from the outside.
  • Figure 2 is a detail on a larger scale, in cross section along the line II-II of a cross member of the frame of Figure 1, to clarify the role and implementation of the discharge openings.
  • Figure 3 is a sectional view similar to Figure 2, of a cross member of a frame arranged in accordance with the invention.

  • Figure 5 is a front view on a larger scale of the nozzle of Figure 4, explaining the means of fixing this nozzle under the cross member of the chassis.
  • Figure 6 is a sectional view, detailing how the device is mounted.

In Figure 1, reference 1 designates a chassis of a traditional window for door or window, schematically shown and essentially comprising a frame 2 formed by assembling metal profiles 3, with mounting the interior of this frame of two glass panels, 4 and 5 respectively, the chassis comprising a cross-member horizontal separation 6 between panels 4 and 5, the panel 5 located at the bottom of the chassis 1 being itself bordered by a second crosspiece 7 constituting the side lower of the chassis.

If we now refer to Figure 2, we see that the profile of the cross 6 is in particular formed of two parallel metal sheets, respectively 8 and 9, with a vertical return 10 directed upwards, this return, which extends perpendicular to the horizontal crosspiece 6, so vertically, supporting a joint at the end seal 11, applied against the outer face 12 of the glazed panel 4, in the vicinity of the lower edge thereof.

The crossmember 6 also has an extension 13, located in the same plane as return 10 but directed downwards, this battered extension supporting at in turn a seal 14, applied against the face outer of the glass panel 5, arranged in the frame under the crosses, while the panel 4 is itself located above of it.

In a conventional embodiment of this kind, provision is made to realize in the return 10, in the immediate vicinity of the sheet metal of the cross-member 6, of the openings 15, so that the runoff that has flowed to the contact of the external face 12 of the panel 4 and which were able cross the joint 11, are collected under this one between the cross and return 10, before being discharged by these openings 15, outside the chassis.

To overcome the unsightly nature of these openings 15 in the crossmember 6, provision is made, in accordance to the invention, to remove these openings and to spare in the crosspiece 10 of the orifices 16, in particular in the sheets 8 and 9, so that the seepage water who have crossed the joint 11 carried by the return 10, can flow down, behind the battue 13, dripping against the external face of the panel 5.

However, to ensure proper channeling of waters thus taken up under panel 4 and having crossed the orifices 16, provision is made, in accordance with the invention, for mount under the cross 6, in particular under the sheet 9 of this one, an open nozzle 17 of which Figure 4 illustrates in more detail the realization.

This nozzle 17 is in the form of a part molded 18, of plastic or similar material, comprising a water drainage channel 19, of axis substantially vertical, open at its upper ends 20 and lower 21, this channel 19 having internally a narrowing of section formed by a partition transverse 22.

Under the latter, the nozzle delimits with two walls parallel, respectively 23 and 24, a passage 25, isolated of the water flow channel 19, making it possible to establish a communication on both sides of beat 13, to balance the air pressure between the outside and inside the rebate.

The nozzle 17 also comprises, at the right of its upper end 20, an open groove 26, in which can be deposited a suitable amount 27 of a sealant, to prevent water flowing in the channel 19 beyond the orifices 16 of the cross-member 6, spreads behind the glass panel 5.

The nozzle 17 comprises, in addition to the means allowing it to immobilize against the internal surface of the battered 13 directed downwards, extending under the crossmember 6 the return 10, these consistent means, coming from molding with part 18, to provide the latter with two legs lateral, 28 and 29 respectively, these legs comprising each a heel 30 suitable for being clipped into a groove 31 machined in the surface of the battue 13, Figure 5 representing the nozzle thus installed, while the Figure 6 shows schematically the various assembly phases.

The drainage device according to the invention allows in particular, using a single piece, ensuring two distinct functions, namely on the one hand the flow towards the bottom of the infiltration water without the need to pierce the external face of the crosspiece seen from outside on the other hand balancing pressures in the glazing rebate.

A simple device is thus produced, the mounting of which is particularly easy and allows you to leave chassis all its aesthetic integrity.

Of course, it goes without saying that the invention is not not limited to the example of embodiment more specifically described above with reference to the accompanying drawings; she in on the contrary embraces all the variants which enter within the framework defined by the appended claims.
