Abstract

"AIR-BAG E MéTODO PARA ACIONAR UM AIR-BAG". Umair-bag (8) é montado no teto de um veículo motor para seracionado em frente do ocupante (7) do veículo. O air-bag émantido por meio de tiras de metal flexível (15) dentro do air-bagpara se inflar inicialmente como uma "cortina" em frente aoocupante do veículo, de modo que o ocupante tenha apenas umaespessura relativamente estreita (T) . Quando as tiras de metalflexível se rompem, a bolsa tem uma configuração maisarredondada. A bolsa é mantida de maneira flexível dentro de umrebaixo (9) que inicialmente mantém a bolsa. Quando a bolsa estácompletamente cheia, a bolsa se separa totalmente do rebaixopara evitar que a bolsa force a cabeça do ocupante para trás àmedida que o torso do ocupante se move para frente durante oacidente.
