レゾルシンジグリシジルエーテル181.2g(ナガセケムテックス株式会社製)をトルエン266.8gに溶解し、これに重合禁止剤としてジブチルヒドロキシトルエン0.8gを加え、60℃まで昇温した。その後、エポキシ基の100%当量のアクリル酸117.5gを加え、さらに80℃まで昇温し、これに反応触媒であるトリメチルアンモニウムクロライド0.6gを添加して、98℃で約30時間撹拌し、反応液を得た。この反応液を水洗し、トルエンを留去することにより、目的とするレゾルシンジグリシジルエーテルのエポキシアクリレート293gを得た。
下記表1に示す割合で成分(a)(メタ)アクリル化エポキシ樹脂に成分(b)光重合開始剤、成分(f)エポキシ樹脂、成分(h)フェノール性水酸基を有する化合物を加熱溶解し、室温まで冷却後、成分(c)無機充填剤、成分(d)有機酸ヒドラジド化合物、成分(e)熱ラジカル重合開始剤、成分(h)フェノール性水酸基を有する化合物を添加し、3本ロールにより均一に混合した。次いで金属メッシュにて濾過することにより実施例1~3の液晶シール剤を調製した。また、同様の工程により、表1に示す材料を混合して、比較例1~2の液晶シール剤を調製した。
得られた液晶シール剤100gにスペーサとして5μmのグラスファイバー(PF-50S:日本電気硝子株式会社製)1gを添加して混合撹拌を行った。この液晶シール剤を50mm×50mmのITO(酸化インジウムスズ)基板(470×370×0.7SP30ITO:ジオマテック株式会社製)に塗布し、その液晶シール剤上に1.5mm×1.5mmのガラス片(EAGLE XG:CORNING社製を1.5mm角にカットしたもの)を貼り合わせ、上記A[MPa]、B[MPa]、C[MPa]、D[MPa]を求める条件で、せん断接着強度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
ガラス基板に配向膜液(PIA-5540-05A;チッソ株式会社製)をスピンコーターで塗布し、60℃ホットプレートにて90秒の仮焼きを行い、220℃オーブンで1時間焼成した。この配向膜付ガラス基板を25mm×25mm、25mm×30mmの2種類にカットし、UVオゾン洗浄装置(UVD-25U03:日本UVマシーン有限会社製)で80秒間洗浄を行った。UVオゾン処理後25mm×25mm配向膜付ガラス基板にディスペンサー又はスクリーン印刷機で液晶シール剤を塗布し、25mm×30mm配向膜付ガラス基板を貼り合わせ、UV照射機により3000mJ/cm2の紫外線を照射後、オーブンに投入して120℃で1時間熱硬化させた。得られた試験片をボンドテスター(SS-30WD:西進商事株式会社)にてシール端から直線で2mmの位置をピンで押し込む接着強度を測定した。結果を表1に示す。
Claims (13)
- 3000mJ/cm2の紫外線を照射した後、120℃雰囲気下で1時間硬化させた後の25℃におけるITO(酸化インジウムスズ)基板に対する接着強度をA[MPa]、前記硬化後の120℃における接着強度をB[MPa]、3000mJ/cm2の紫外線のみによる硬化後の25℃におけるITO(酸化インジウムスズ)基板に対する接着強度をC[MPa]としたとき、前記A、B、及びCが下記式(1)及び(2)で表される関係式を満たす液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
B≧0.5×A (1)
C≧0.3×A (2) - 3000mJ/cm2の紫外線のみによる硬化後の120℃におけるITO(酸化インジウムスズ)基板に対する接着強度をD[MPa]としたとき、前記A及びDが下記式(3)で表される関係式を満たす請求項1に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
D≧0.3×A (3) - 成分(a)(メタ)アクリル化エポキシ樹脂、成分(b)光重合開始剤、成分(c)無機充填剤、及び成分(d)有機酸ヒドラジド化合物を含有する請求項1又は2に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- さらに成分(e)熱ラジカル重合開始剤を含有する請求項3に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- 前記成分(e)熱ラジカル重合開始剤が、1,2-ビス(トリメチルシロキシ)-1,1,2,2-テトラフェニルエタンである請求項4に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- さらに成分(f)エポキシ樹脂を含有する請求項3乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- さらに成分(g)シランカップリング剤を含有する請求項3乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- 前記成分(g)シランカップリング剤がアミノシランカップリング剤である請求項7に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- 前記成分(g)シランカップリング剤がアミノシランカップリング剤とエポキシシランカップリング剤との混合物である請求項7に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- さらに成分(h)フェノール性水酸基を有する化合物を含有する請求項3乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- 前記成分(h)フェノール性水酸基を有する化合物がフェノールノボラック樹脂である請求項10に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤。
- 2枚の基板により構成される液晶表示セルにおいて、一方の基板に形成された請求項1乃至11のいずれか一項に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤からなる堰の内側に液晶を滴下した後、もう一方の基板を貼り合わせ、その後紫外線及び/又は熱により前記液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤を硬化する液晶表示セルの製造方法。
- 請求項1乃至11のいずれか一項に記載の液晶滴下工法用液晶シール剤を硬化して得られる硬化物で接着された液晶表示セル。
