DESIGN FOR FANCY CASSIMERE FABRICS.
Specification forming part of Design No. 9,287,
dated May 16, 1876; application filed May 6, 1876.
[Term of Patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, WM. A. WALTON, of the city and county of Providence, and State of Rhode Island, have invented anew Design for Fancy Gassimere Fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the following specification, taken in connection with the drawings malting a part of the saine, is a full, clear, and exact description thereof.
The design which is the subject of this patent consists in the combination of broad stripes, composed of shade-lines running lengthwise of the fabric, with alternate stripes of a cheekered pattern upon a plain ground.
A A represent broad stripes, which are com` posed of a number of lines, a a, which are parallel to each other, and are placed at varying distances apart, so as to give a shaded effect tothe stripe. B B represent stripes, which alternate with the stripes A A, and run lengthwise of the fabric. These stripes B B consist of a plain ground relieved by consecutive checkered figures C, as shown, the effect of which Entrer is to give a shaded effect to the stripes l5 B.
The fabric may be woven in any preferred variety or combination of colors, for giving the best effect to the design above described, the characteristic feature of which is the shadeline stripesA A, in combination with the checker-pattern stripes B B.
That I claim is- The design for fancy cassimere fabrics, substantially as herein described, and represented in the drawings.
