DESIGN FOR FANCY CASSIMERE.

Specification forming part of Design No. 8,326. dated May 11, 1875; application filed April 12, 1875. [Term of Patent 7' years.]

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, ILLIAH B. \VEEDEN, of the city and county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Fancy Gassinlere Fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the following specification, taken in connection with the drawings making a part of the same, is afull, clear, and exact description thereof.

The effect of my novel design will be apparent on an inspection of the accompanying drawings, to which reference is made. Said effect is produced by the arrangement and combination of the long and short bars, which are so placed transversely upon the groundwork of the fabric as to form a peculiar pattern. The short bars or spots A are so arranged, in combination with the long bars 13, as to appear diagonally above and below the latter, both to the right and left, and, owing to this disposition or grouping, the diagonal lines of the fabric show the bar B in alternation with two of the spots A. Yiewed longitudinally the pattern appears broken, but the transverse lines exhibit the bars B and spots A in respective rows.

The design may be placed upon a ground of plain or fancy weaving, and any preferred variety of colors may be used for producing a desirable eflect.

What I claim is- The design for fancy cassiniere fabrics, substantially as described, and shown in the drawlugs.
