Abstract

En katalysatorblanding inne- holder ett eller flere binære oksider av palladium og sjeldent jordmetall, som Ce, La, Nd, Pr og/eller Sm. Katalysatorblandingen anvendes for katalytisk forbrenning av gassformige forbrenn- ingsblandinger av oksygen og karbonholdige brensler, som metan, f.eks. en naturgass/luftforbrenningsblanding. Spesifikke, foretrukne, binære oksider kan for eksempel være M203-PdO (f.eks. La203-PdO) eller 2M203-PdO, hvori M i hvert tilfelle er La, Nd eller Sm. En fremgangsmåte for forbrenning av gass- formige, karbonholdige brensler innbe- fatter at en katalysator som beskrevet ovenfor under forbrenningsbetingelser, f.eks. 925"C til 1650°C og l til 20 atmosfærers trykk, kontaktes for å utføre underholdt forbrenning av for- brenningsblandingen, innbefattende katalytisk understøttet, termisk for- brenning. Regenerering av M203-PdO-kata- lysator som har vært utsatt for over- temperatur, er også fremskaffet.
