본 발명은 차량상에 배열된 식별 데이타를 자동적으로 판독하기 위한 장치에 관한 것이다.
특히, 본 발명은 가입자로 하여금 주차장 또는 자동차 도로에 요금을 지불할 수 있게 하기 위한 장치에 관한 것이다.
가입자가 가입을 체결할 때 일괄 요금을 미리 지불함으로써 혹은 운영회사에 의해 우지되는 구좌에 청구함으로써 요금을 자동적으로 지불한 가입자가 통과가 허가된 차량인지 아닌지를 목록으로부터 자동적으로 확인하기 위하여, 차량상의 식별 데이타를 자동적으로 판독할 수 있는 것이 바람직하다.
또한, 본 발명은 기억된 데이타에 엑세스하는 매표소 단말기의 출구에서 지불될 금액을 계산하기 위해 차량의 식별 데이타를 포착하고, 상기 식별 데이타와 함께 주차장에 또는 도로의 입구에 도착하는 시간을 기억시키는 것에 관한 것이다.
차량을 식별하기 위한 특성 데이타는 본래 차량의 번호판으로 이루어진다.
유료 주차장 또는 유료 도로의 운영자가 차량의 번호판을 차량의 식별 데이타로서 이용하는 잇점은, 번호판이라고 하는 코드가 이미 존재하기 때문에 특별한 특성 코드를 고안할 필요가 없다는 점, 신뢰성이 매우 높다는 점, 그리고 서투른 속임을 방지시켜준다는 점에 있다.
그러나, 도착시간이 늦추어지는 것을 피하기 위해서는 번호를 자동적으로 매우 빨리 판독하여야 하며, 실제로는 주행중인 차량상에서 번호가 판독되어야 한다.
이 점에서, 번호판을 판독, 특히 번호판을 식별하여 그것을 차량의 후방에 흔히 존재하게 되는 다른 기록내용(예컨대, 여러 가지 메시지를 가진 스티커 등)으로부터 구별하는 것은, 계산적으로 시간이 오래 걸리고 어려운 작업이다.
본 발명의 목적은 이러한 결점을 감소시키기 위한 것으로서, 본 발명에 의하면, 차량상의 식별데이타를 자동적으로 판독하기 위한 장치가 제공되는데, 상기 장치는 프로세서 유니트에 접속된 텔레비젼 카메라를, 포함하며 상기 각 차량상의 식별 데이타는 그 차량의 번호판으로 구성되어, 상기 번호판에 인접하는 부가적인 광학 표시기에 연결되어 있으며, 상기 표시기는 상기 프로세서 유니트에 의해 용이하게 분석되는 고특성 비디오신호를 발생시킬 수 있도록 선택됨을 특징으로 하는 것이다.
상기 부가적인 광학적 표시기는 반사면을 갖는 판체(板體)로 구성되는 것이 바람직하다.
적외선 조사원(照謝源)과 연결된 CCD 텔레비젼 카메라를 사용하는 것이 바람직하다.
번호판의 판독을 최적화시키기 위해서는, 부가적인 광학적 표시기는 예를 들어, 프로세서 유니트에 의해 수행되는 알고리즘을 미리 선택하는데 적합한 코드[예컨대, 바(bar) 코드]를 갖는 것이 바람직하다.
특별한 응용에서, 상기 프로세서 유니트는 상기 식별 데이타를 나타내는 출력신호를 발생하며, 상기 장치는 n개의 차량에 관련된 식별 데이타 목록(이 목록은 미리 얻어진 것일 수도 있고, 각 처리의 초기에 얻어진 것일 수도 있다)을 포함하는 메모리 유니트와, 차량의 통과를 허가 또는 불허하기 위한 장치를 제어하기 위한 자동 제어수단에 인가될 인식 신호 또는 비인식 신호를 공급하기 위해 메모리 유니트의 내용을 판독하고 이 내용을 상기 프로세서 유니트로부터의 출력신호와 비교하는 수단을 더욱 포함한다.
이하, 첨부 도면을 참조하면서 본 발명을 더욱 상세히 설명하기로 한다.
차량(도시하지 않았음)은 번호판(1)을 갖는다. 이 번호판에는, 부가적인 광학적 표시기(2)가 부가되어 있다.
표시기의 주 목적은, 자동 영상 주사 장치의 번호판(1)의 위치를 자동적으로 알아내는 것을 용이하게 하여 주려는 것이다. 이를 위해, 표시기(2)는 비디오 신호에서 용이하게 구별될 수 있도록 하는 특별한 형상을 가지며, 무엇보다도 이것은 반사성인 것이 유리하다.
또한, 예를 들어 차량의 국적, 번호판의 모양, 번호판의 색깔 등의 함수로서 사용될 처리 알고리즘을 미리 선택함으로써 번호판(1)의 자동 판독을 최적화시키기 위해, 표시기(2)는 예컨대, 바 코드 등의 코드를 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 이 코드는 번호판(1)상의 정보에 부가하여 또다른 정보를 제공하는데, 예를 들어 가입이 존재하는가의 여부를 명시하고, 가입의 형태, 차량의 종류, 유효기간 또는 유효 지역 등을 명시할 수 있다. 이 코드는 또한, 번호판으로부터 판독된 정보를 체크 코드와 비교하고 필요하면 오차의 수정을 수행함으로써, 정보를 유효화시키는데 사용될 수 있다.
고정된 위치(예를 들면, 주차장으로의 입구)는, 적외선 조사원(4)에 연결된 텔레비젼 카메라(3)(예를 들면, CCD형 카메라)에 맞추어져 있다.

본 발명의 장치는 메모리(7) 및 유니트(8)에 접속된 입구 및 제어 단말기(10)을 부수적으로 포함하는데, 이것은 키보드(11), 플로피 디스크 메모리 유니트(12), 결합 유니트(13) 및 표시 장치(14)로 구성된다.

기입되지 아니한 사용자에 대한 적용으로서, 프로세서 유니트(5)는 도착 시간을 차량의 식별 데이타와 함께 기억함으로써, 도착시에 기억된 데이타에 엑세스하는 출구의 매표소 단말기에서 지불되어야 하는 금액을 계산해 낼 수가 있는 것이다. 이때, 프로세서 유니트(5)는 자동 제어 유니트(9)에 직접 접속되어서, 차량이 자유롭게 통과하는 것을 허가하게 된다.

Claims (6)

  1. 차량에 부착된 식별 데이타를 자동적으로 판독하기 위한 장치에 있어서, 상기 장치는 프로세서 유니트(5)에 접속된 텔레비젼 카메라(3)를 포함하며, 각 차량 상의 상기 식별 데이타는 그 차량의 번호판(1)으로 구성되어 상기 번호판에 인접한 부가적인 광학적 표시기(2)와 연결되어 있으며, 상기 표시기는 상기 프로세서 유니트(5)에 의해 용이하게 분석되는 고특성 비디오 신호를 발생시키는 방식으로 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 식별 데이타 자동 판독 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 광학적 표시기(2)가 반사면을 갖는 판체(板體)로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 식별 데이타 자동 판독 장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 카메라(3)는 적외선 조사원(照射源)(4)과 연결된 CCD 카메라인 것을 특징으로 하는 식별 데이타 자동 판독 장치.
  4. 제1항 내지 제3항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 광학적 표시기(2)가, 상기 프로세서 유니트(5)에 의해 수행될 알고리즘을 미리 선택되게 하는 코드를 더욱 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 식별 데이타 자동 판독 장치.
  5. 제1항 내지 제3항 중의 어느 한 항에 있어서, 상기 프로세서 유니트(5)는 상기 식별 데이타를 나타내는 출력 신호(6)를 발생하며, 상기 장치는 미리 얻어진 혹은 각 처리의 초기에 얻어지는 n개의 차량에 관련된 식별 데이타의 목록을 포함하는 메모리 유니트(7)와, 차량의 통과를 허가하거나 불허하기 위한 장치를 제어하기 위한 자동 제어 수단(9)에 인가될 인식 또는 비인식 신호를 공급하기 위해 상기 메모리 유니트의 내용을 판독하고 그 내용을 상기 프로세서 유니트(5)로부터의 출력 신호와 비교하는 수단(8)을 더욱 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 식별 데이타 자동 판독 장치.
  6. 제4항에 있어서, 상기 프로세서 유니트(5)는 상기 식별 데이타를 나타내는 출력 신호(6)를 발생하며, 상기 장치는 미리 얻어진 혹은 각 처리의 초기에 얻어지는 n개의 차량에 관련된 식별 데이타의 목록을 포함하는 메모리 유니트(7)와, 차량의 통과를 허가하거나 불허하기 위한 장치를 제어하기 위한 자동 제어 수단(9)에 인가될 인식 또는 비인식 신호를 공급하기 위해 상기 메모리 유니트의 내용을 판독하고 그 내용을 상기 프로세서 유니트(5)로부터의 출력 신호와 비교하는 수단(8)을 더욱 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 식별 데이타 자동 판독 장치.
