Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【産業上の利用分野】この発明は、内燃機関により駆動
され、走行用の誘導電動機の電源となる交流発電機を有
する、電気ハイブリッド自動車用発電装置に関する。

【従来の技術】図3は従来の発電装置を設けた、電気ハ
イブリッド自動車の発電電動手段の構成図である。1は
内燃機関、2はこの内燃機関にベルト連結手段3を介し
駆動される交流発電機で、例えば3倍の回転速度に増速
される。4は交流発電機2の交流電圧を直流電圧に整流
する整流器、5は整流器4の出力電圧で充電され、予備
の直流電源となる蓄電池、6は制御装置で、整流器4の
出力電圧を検出し電圧調整器により交流発電機の励磁電
流を制御して所定電圧に調整し、また、静止形インバー
タにより直流を交流に変換し、かつ、周波数を所要に変
換して供給する。7は制御装置6により交流電圧が供給
され、周波数が変換されて回転速度が制御される誘導電
動機、8は誘導電動機7の回転が伝えられる差動歯車
で、車軸9を介し車輪10を回転させる。
【0003】上記内燃機関1の運転領域は、最も燃量効
率の良いとされる3,000rpm付近を定格回転数として
ほぼ一定回転数で運転される。車両として最高速度や最
大加速を必要とするときに、4,000rpm付近で運転さ
れ、また、蓄電池5が充電完了状態の場合又は長時間停
車している場合は1,000〜1,500rpmで運転され
る。このため、交流発電機2として必要な、機関回転速
度に対応した出力電流特性は、図4に整流器出力電流で
示す×印のI1、I2、I3の3点を満足することが要求
され、交流発電機2はこの特性を有するように大形とな
っていた。整流器4の出力電圧は例えば280Vで、蓄
電池5の電圧は例えば240Vである。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記のような従来の電
気ハイブリッド自動車用発電装置では、内燃機関1の空
転付近の回転速度から車両の最高馬力相当の回転速度ま
でを、駆動される1台の交流発電機2により電力供給を
負担していたので、発電機2は大形化するとともに、本
来定格回転数(運転される割合が最大)で高い効率が要
求されているのが、低効率となっているという問題点が
あった。また、発電機2が大形であるので、内燃機関1
への搭載上、配設の困難性が増すという問題点があっ
た。さらに、発電機2が大形になるので、内燃機関1と
のベルト連結手段3がかなり大きくなるという問題点が
あった。
【0005】この発明は、上記のような問題点を解決す
るためになされたもので、電気ハイブリッド自動車の内
燃機関の要求特性に適した発電特性が得られ、小形化さ
れ、高効率運転ができ、また、内燃機関への搭載上の配
設を容易にし、発電機の駆動伝達手段を小形にした電気
ハイブリッド自動車用発電装置を得ることを目的として
いる。

【課題を解決するための手段】この発明にかかる電気ハ
イブリッド自動車用発電装置は、発電開始回転速度が異
なっていて、その回転速度近くで高い効率を出す複数台
の小形の交流発電機を、内燃機関に連結し、走行駆動の
誘導電動機及び蓄電池の電源としたものである。

【作用】この発明においては、内燃機関の回転速度に対
し、低速度ではこれに対する交流発電機が主として高い
効率で発電し、高速度ではこれに対する交流発電機が主
として高い効率で発電し供給する。複数の発電機は小形
であり、配設が容易になる。さらには、低速度で高い効
率の発電機の制御電圧を、高速度で高い効率の発電機の
制御電圧より低く設定することにより、定格運転時の負
荷分担が、高速度で高い効率の発電機の方が優先され、
より高効率運転ができる。

【実施例】
実施例1.図1はこの発明の実施例1による発電装置を
設けた、電気ハイブリッド自動車の発電電動手段の構成
図であり、1,4〜10は図3と同様である。21は第
1の交流発電機で、発電開始回転速度が低く、低回転速
度側で高い効率を出す性能をもち、上記従来の発電機よ
り小容量で小形になっている。22は第2の交流発電機
で、発電開始回転速度が高く、高回転速度側で高い効率
を出す特能をもち、上記従来の発電機より小容量で、小
形になっている。交流発電機21と22は、共通の回転
伝達手段(例えばベルト連結手段)23を介し、内燃機
関1に連結されており、双方の電力を供給する。回転伝
達手段23は、2台の容量の小さい交流発電機21,2
2に回転伝達するので、小形化される。また、発電機2
1,22は回転伝達手段23により、例えば3倍に増速
される。
【0009】交流発電機21,22の機関回転速度に対
する出力電流特性を、図2(A)に整流器出力電流で示
す。点線で示すA特性は第1の交流発電機21で、鎖線
で示すB特性は第2の交流発電機22であり、合計出力
電流は実線で示すようになり、I1,I2,I3の3点を
接近して満足しており、過剰な出力とならなく、小容量
のものにしている。この交流発電機21,22により整
流器4の出力電圧は例えば280Vになるようにしてい
る。A特性の第1の交流発電機21は、回転速度1,5
00rpm以下(例えば1,200rpm)で発電開始し、B
特性の第2の交流発電機22は、回転速度3,000rpm
以下(例えば2,700rpm)で発電開始するようにして
いる。
【0010】図2(B)は交流発電機21,22の機関
回転速度に対する効率を示す曲線図で、A特性は交流発
電機21の効率を、B特性は交流発電機22の効率を示
す。一般に、1相の無負荷発生電圧 E=KΦZf で
ある。 K:定数、Φ:一極当たりの磁束数、Z:一相直列導体
数、f:周波数、f=(P/2)×(N/60) P:
極数、N:回転数 発電開始回転速度の低いA特性は、fが小でZは大であ
り、発電開始回転速度の高いB特性は、fが大でZは小
である。Zが大の場合、固定子コイル抵抗が大で、銅損
が大きく効率が低下し、また、電機子電流が流れること
によって作られる磁界の影響により電機子反作用が大と
なり、出力が減少し効率が低下する。したがって、Zが
大で発電開始回転速度が低い第1の交流発電機21は、
高い回転速度では効率が低下し、図2(B)のA特性の
ようになる。次に、Zが小で発電開始回転速度が高い第
2の交流発電機22は、高い回転速度で効率が高く、図
2(B)のB特性のようになる。なお、上記従来装置で
は、発電開始回転数は、図2(B)のA特性と同様であ
り、効率もA特性のようになる。
【0011】実施例2.さらに、A特性の第1の交流発
電機21の制御電圧をB特性の第2の交流発電機22の
制御電圧より低く設定することにより、定格運転時(例
えば3,000rpm)の負荷分担が、効率のよい交流発
電機22の方が優先されるので、さらに、高効率運転が
される。
【0012】実施例3.なお、上記実施例では、発電開
始回転速度が異なる2台の交流発電機21,22を設け
たが、これ以上の台数にしてもよい。
【0013】実施例4.また、上記実施例では、発電機
の回転伝達手段23として、ベルト連結手段によった
が、これに限らずチェーン連結手段又は歯車連結手段な
どによってもよい。

【発明の効果】以上のように、この発明によれば、発電
開始回転速度が異なり、その回転速度近く側で高い効率
を出す複数台の交流発電機を、内燃機関に回転伝達手段
を介し連結し電力を供給するようにしたので、電気ハイ
ブリッド車の内燃機関の要求運転特性に適合した発電特
性が得られ、各交流発電機が小形化され、配設の自由度
が向上し、回転伝達手段が小形化される。また、定格回
転速度付近では、各交流発電機の各特性の運転となり、
効率もその回転速度で高い効率の発電機による大きい出
力で、高効率運転ができる。さらには、発電開始回転速
度が低い発電機を、発電開始回転速度が高い発電機に対
し、制御電圧を低く設定することにより、さらに高効率
運転ができる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】 内燃機関に回転伝達手段を介し駆動され
    る交流発電機、この交流発電機の交流電圧を整流する整
    流器、この整流器からの出力により充電される蓄電池、
    上記整流器又は蓄電池から直流電圧が供給され、静止形
    インバータにより交流電圧に変換するとともに、周波数
    を可変する制御装置、及びこの制御装置からの交流電力
    が供給され、車両を走行させる誘導電動機を備えた電気
    ハイブリッド自動車において、 上記交流発電機は、発電開始回転速度が異なっていて、
    その回転速度近くの側で高い効率を出す複数台からなる
    ことを特徴とする電気ハイブリッド自動車用発電装置。
  2. 【請求項2】 内燃機関に回転伝達手段を介し駆動され
    る交流発電機、この交流発電機の交流電圧を整流する整
    流器、この整流器からの出力により充電される蓄電池、
    上記整流器又は蓄電池からの直流電圧が供給され、静止
    形インバータにより交流電圧に変換するとともに、周波
    数を可変する制御装置、及びこの制御装置からの交流電
    力が供給され、車両を走行させる誘導電動機を備えた電
    気ハイブリッド自動車において、 上記交流発電機は、発電開始回転速度が異なっていて、
    その回転速度近くの側で高い効率を出す複数台からな
    り、かつ、発電開始回転速度が低い方の発電機を、高い
    方の発電機より制御電圧を低く設定したことを特徴とす
    る電気ハイブリッド自動車用発電装置。
