Description
主平面と、該主平面に対して垂直な端面と、前記主平面と前記端面との間に形成され、前記主平面および前記端面に隣接する面取り面とを有するガラス板において、
前記主平面および前記端面に対して垂直な断面において、前記面取り面は、前記主平面に対する傾きが45°の直線と接する接点での曲率半径が50μm以上、且つ前記主平面に対する傾きが15°の直線と接する接点での曲率半径が20〜500μmであり、前記主平面に対して斜めの平坦部を有する。
例1では、板厚0.8mmの矩形状のガラス素板を図2に示す方法で研磨して面取り部を形成後、図4に示す方法で曲面部および湾曲部を形成して、衝撃破壊強度の試験片を作製した。試験片は、化学強化層を有さない。
例2では、面取り部を形成するための研磨時間を変えた以外は例1と同様にして試験片を作製し、試験片の衝撃破壊強度、および試験片の面取り面の寸法形状を測定した。評価の結果を表1に示す。
例3では、面取り部を形成する方法として、図2に示す方法の代わりに、図3に示す方法を用いた以外は例1と同様にして試験片を作製し、試験片の衝撃破壊強度、および試験片の面取り面の寸法形状を測定した。評価の結果を表1に示す。
例4〜例5では、面取り部を形成した後、曲面部および湾曲部を形成しなかった以外は例1と同様にして、試験片を作製した。従って、例4〜例5の試験片の面取り面は、面取り部のみで構成され、主平面に対して斜めの平坦面であった。例4〜例5では、面取り部を形成するための研磨時間を変えた。
例6では、例1と同じガラス素板をそのまま試験片として用いた。この試験片は、互いに平行な2つの主平面と、各主平面に対して垂直な端面とを有し、面取り面を有さない。

Claims (5)
- 主平面と、該主平面に対して垂直な端面と、前記主平面と前記端面との間に形成され、前記主平面および前記端面に隣接する面取り面とを有するガラス板において、
前記主平面および前記端面に対して垂直な断面において、前記面取り面は、前記主平面に対する傾きが45°の直線と接する接点での曲率半径が50μm以上、且つ前記主平面に対する傾きが15°の直線と接する接点での曲率半径が20〜500μmであり、前記主平面に対して斜めの平坦部を有する、ガラス板。 - 前記面取り面は、前記端面に対して垂直な方向における面取り幅が20〜500μmとなるように形成される請求項1に記載のガラス板。
- 前記主平面および前記端面に対して垂直な断面において、前記面取り面は、前記主平面に対する傾きが15°の直線と接する接点での曲率半径をr1とし、前記主平面に対する傾きが45°の直線と接する接点での曲率半径をr2とすると、r2がr1以上となるように形成される請求項1または2に記載のガラス板。
- 前記主平面に化学強化層を有する請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のガラス板。
- ディスプレイのカバーガラスとして用いられることを特徴とする請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載のガラス板。
