Description
図1は、型内被覆成形用金型の構成を説明するため概略の構造を示した構造図であり、図2(a)〜(d)は、型内被覆成形方法における金型、樹脂及び塗料の挙動を説明する概念図である。図3は、型内被覆成形装置全体の構成を説明する全体構成図である。
図4は、型内被覆成形用金型の構成を説明するため概略の構造を示した構造図であり、図5(a)〜(d)は、型内被覆成形方法における金型、樹脂及び塗料の挙動を説明する概念図である。図6は、型内被覆成形方法のフローチャートである。図7は、実施例1〜3および比較例1〜3において成形した樹脂成形品において、塗膜厚みの測定点を示す図面であって、樹脂成形品を金型の開閉方向から投影したときの投影図である。図8は、参考例5、および比較例6において成形した樹脂成形品の断面形状を示す図面であり、塗膜厚みの測定点は、矢印でそれぞれ示している。図9は、参考例5、および比較例6において成形した樹脂成形品の各測定点における塗膜厚み(μm)の変動を示すグラフである。図10(a)〜(d)及び図11(a)〜(d)は、従来技術による金型、樹脂及び塗料の挙動を説明する概念図である。図12は、従来技術による型内被覆成形方法のフローチャートである。
第1及び第2の態様に用いた型内被覆成形用金型装置10(金型10と称することもある)ついて、以下その構造を、図4を用いて簡略に説明する。金型10は、先に説明した実施形態に用いた金型10Aと同様に可動型14、固定型12、及び塗料注入機50を備えており、固定型12と可動型14とがくいきり構造の嵌合部で嵌め合わされて、金型キャビティ15の全周にわたってくいきり部が形成されている。金型10の金型キャビティ形状は、図4にその断面を図示したように、金型キャビティ15の外周に型閉方向に沿って延在する側壁部分を有して、開口部を有した箱型となっていることである。金型10は、雄型である固定型12と雌型である可動型14とがくいきり構造の嵌合部で嵌め合わされ、該嵌め合わされた状態でその内部に金型キャビティ15Aを形成する構造となっており、該くいきり構造の嵌合部(くいきり部と称することもある)は金型キャビティ15の全周にわたって形成される。
また、塗料注入機50の配置と構造は、先に説明した実施形態と同様であるので省略する。
本発明の第2の態様では、基材の冷却後、第3の工程に進み、図5(c)に示すように金型をわずかに開いた状態(1mmほど型開方向に可動型14を移動させた状態)として、金型キャビティ15内で成形した樹脂成形品と可動型14の金型キャビティ面との間に空隙(隙間と称することもある)を生じさせる。
(実施例1〜3および比較例1〜3)
同じ金型を用いて耐熱ABS樹脂(UMGABS社製UT20B))及び塗料(大日本塗料社製プラグラス#8000赤)を用いて第2工程の型締力および第4工程の型締力を変化させて型内塗装成形を行った。この時の塗膜厚みを測定した結果を表2に示す。
サイドカバー形状(投影面積:約500cm2)の金型を用いて耐熱ABS樹脂(UMGABS社製UT20B)及び塗料(大日本塗料社製プラグラス#8000赤)を用いて、第2工程の型締力および第4工程の型締力を、以下の表3に示すように変化させて型内塗装成形を行った。得られた成形品の塗膜厚みを測定した測定点をその断面形状上にそれぞれ矢印で示したものを図8に、この時の各測定点における塗膜厚みの変動を図9に示す。
また、第2の工程の型締力を小さくすることによって、樹脂成形品の側壁部に熱収縮によるわずかな空隙が徐々に発生するので、側壁部分にも被覆剤が流入することができ、良好な被覆を施すことができる。前述した第2工程の型締力は、樹脂成形品に被覆が施される直前まで常に金型キャビティ面で樹脂成形品を押圧する必要があることから、単位面積あたりの型内圧力として表したとき、2〜15MPa範囲、好ましくは、4〜10MPa範囲とする。
また、本発明は金型を予め開いた状態として塗料を注入する方法のみならず、塗料の注入圧力により金型を開く型内被覆成形方法においても、本発明は適用可能であって、同様の効果を得ることができる。
Claims (4)
- 雄型と雌型により形成された金型キャビティを有する金型を用いて、該金型キャビティ内で、樹脂成形品を成形する樹脂成形品の成形方法において、
樹脂成形品の寸法容積に対して溶融樹脂の熱収縮量に相当する分だけ大きめとした該金型キャビティに溶融樹脂を充填する第1の工程と、該金型キャビティに溶融樹脂を充填した後に該溶融樹脂の熱収縮に合わせながら金型キャビティの容積量を減少させ溶融樹脂を賦形して樹脂成形品を成形する第2の工程とからなり、
第2の工程で金型を型締めする型締力が、第1の工程で金型を型締めする型締力の10〜50%である樹脂成形品の成形方法。 - 前記第2の工程で金型を型締めする型締力が、単位面積あたりの圧力で表したとき、2〜15MPaの範囲である、請求項1に記載の樹脂成形品の成形方法。
- 雄型と雌型により形成された金型キャビティを有する金型を用いて、該金型キャビティ内で、樹脂成形品を成形するとともに該樹脂成形品の表面に被覆を施す型内被覆成形方法において、
該金型キャビティに溶融樹脂を充填する第1の工程と、該金型キャビティに溶融樹脂を充填した後に該溶融樹脂の熱収縮に合わせながら金型キャビティの容積量を減少させ溶融樹脂を賦形して樹脂成形品を成形する第2の工程と、該樹脂成形品が被覆剤の注入圧力と流動圧力に耐えうる程度に固化した段階で金型をわずかに開いて該樹脂成形品と金型キャビティ面との間に被覆剤を注入するための空隙を形成する第3の工程と、該空隙に被覆剤を注入して金型を再度型締めする第4の工程とからなり、
第2の工程で金型を型締めする型締力が、第1の工程で金型を型締めする型締力の10〜50%である型内被覆成形方法。 - 前記第2の工程で金型を型締めする型締力が、単位面積あたりの圧力で表したとき、2〜15MPaの範囲である、請求項3に記載の型内被覆成形方法。
