なお、本発明におけるメルカプタン転化反応では、硫化水素・メルカプタン以外の硫黄化合物、たとえばカルボニルスルフィド(COS)や二硫化炭素、あるいはチオフェン類なども硫化水素に還元される。

Claims (6)
- 少なくとも硫化水素とメルカプタンを不純物として含む天然ガスからこれらの不純物を除去して天然ガスを精製する方法において、天然ガスをアミンを含む溶液を用いた化学吸収法で処理して主として硫化水素及び炭酸ガスを除去する吸収工程、該吸収工程からの天然ガスをモレキュラーシーブの充填層に流通させて主としてメルカプタンを除去する吸着工程、該吸収工程で除去した硫化水素からクラウス法により硫黄を回収する回収工程、該吸着工程でモレキュラーシーブに吸着したメルカプタンを加熱ガスで脱離させる再生工程、及び該再生工程から排出される再生排ガス中のメルカプタンを硫化水素に転化する反応工程を含み、該反応工程が、触媒の存在下、温度250〜400℃、圧力1〜10MPaの条件の下に、スチームまたは水を再生排ガス中の硫黄に対してH2O/S=1〜5(モル比)の割合で注入することにより行われることを特徴とする方法。
- 該触媒が、CoMox触媒である請求項1記載の方法。
- さらに、該反応工程から排出される再生排ガスをアミン水溶液を用いた化学吸収法で処理して主として硫化水素を除去する第2吸収工程を含む請求項1または2記載の方法。
- 該第2吸収工程を、該吸収工程と同一の装置で実施する請求項3記載の方法。
- 該吸収工程が、主として硫化水素を吸収する工程と主として炭酸ガスを吸収する工程とに分かれており、該回収工程は、主として硫化水素を吸収する工程から得られる硫化水素リッチなアミン溶液を再生して得られる硫化水素から硫黄を回収する請求項1〜4のいずれか記載の方法。
- 該反応工程に供する再生排ガス流と該反応工程から排出される再生排ガス流との間で熱交換を行わせる請求項1〜5のいずれか記載の方法。
