式中、tはミクロン単位の膜厚でRはオーム単位の膜抵抗測定値である。
IおよびLiTFSiを含む汎用のLi塩はこれらの周波数に吸収を示さないし、1630と1690cm-1の間にも、いかなる吸収ピークを示さない。しかしながら、Li塩と非常に強く会合したある種のポリイミドが、それらの塩と結合すると、得られたポリイミド/塩の膜は約1672cm-1の第一ピークおよび約1640cm-1の第二ピークに非常に強いダブレットの出現を示す。
cm-1と1690cm-1の間に吸収を示さない。図5bは、1630cmと1690cm-1の間に赤外吸収のないことを確認するLiBOBのFTIRを示す。
(本発明による例示のPMEに比較して市販のポリイミド/塩/溶媒の光学的透明性の測定)
この実施例の目的は、実証した光学的透過により、リチウム塩と強く相互作用をもつポリイミドから形成されるPMEの均一な本質を明らかにすることである。PME膜は、図1b、1cおよび1mで示すポリイミドから生成されるが、一方、マトリミド(Matrimid)5218p/塩/溶媒は比較のために生成した。PMEおよびマトリミドベースの膜はNMPから透明なポリエチレンテレフタレート支持フィルム上に成形し、真空オーブン内、120℃で3時間乾燥して作成された。残存溶媒量は約4重量%であった。PME組成およびマトリミド配合はすべて、ポリイミド32%、LiTFSi塩64%で、残りは少量の溶媒であった。すべての測定は540nm光を用いて実施した。
PMEは均一またはほとんど均一なマトリクス材料であるから、PMEを用いて形成した電池は高い温度および圧力の暴露に対応する特殊な能力を有し、その性能特性を保つ。セル組み立ては典型的には高温(例、140℃)、圧力(例、125psi(すなわち、0.862MPa))で約10分間であるが、引き続く同等またはそれ以下の過酷な条件に暴露されても、本発明によって製造されるセルは影響を受けない。注目に値するのは、本発明によるセルは、前記引用したセル組み立て条件に比較し、有意により過酷な条件に耐えることが分かった。
本発明によるPMEの形態、PMEとリチウムバナジウム酸化物(LVO)/ポリイミド陽極膜との界面を評価するために走査型電子顕微鏡(SEM)写真を取った。図10aは、PME単独の2枚の(2)SEM写真であり、それぞれ実質的に欠陥が無いこと、および細孔がない膜を証拠づけている。示したPME膜の厚みは両方とも約75μmであった。
図11は、本発明による典型的なセルの充電/放電プロフィールを示しており、このセルは本発明の実施態様によるリチウムバナジウム酸化物(LVO)陽極、Li金属陰極およびPMEセパレーターを含んでいる。セルの容量は25mAhであった。X軸は全時間を、Y軸はセル電圧を表している。セルは300時間を越えるサイクルの間、良好なサイクル安定性を実証している。

を含み、前記PMEは、540ナノメーター光を、規格化した厚み25.4μmの膜に透過させる標準濁度測定によれば、少なくとも90%の光学的透明度を有する、ICカード。 - 少なくとも1つの樹脂層と、前記樹脂層に内蔵された電池と、少なくとも1つの電子素子と、を備えるICカードであって、前記電池は前記電子素子に電力を供給するために前記電子素子と電気的に接続しており、前記電池は、

陰極と、陽極と、前記陰極と前記陽極の間に配置された少なくとも1つのポリマーマトリクス電解質(PME)セパレーターと、を含み、前記PMEセパレーターは、ポリイミド、少なくとも1つのリチウム塩および混合される少なくとも1つの溶媒を含み、前記PMEは、540ナノメーター光を、規格化した厚み25.4μmの膜に透過させる標準濁度測定によれば、少なくとも90%の光学的透明度を有する、電池を作成する工程、および
前記電池および少なくとも1つの電子素子を少なくとも1つの樹脂層に内蔵させ、前記電池が前記電子素子に電気的に接続する工程を含む方法。 - 前記リチウム塩は前記ポリイミドによりもたらされたイミド環のモル当たり少なくとも0.5モルのリチウム濃度である、請求項33の方法。
- 前記内蔵プロセスが積層プロセスを含み、少なくとも110℃の温度、少なくとも1.379MPaの圧力下、少なくとも5分間が前記積層プロセスに用いられ、前記電池が前記積層プロセス後、開回路電圧および容量に10%未満の変化を与える、請求項33の方法。
- 少なくとも130℃の温度、少なくとも1.586MPaの圧力下、少なくとも10分間が前記積層プロセスに用いられ、前記電池が前記積層プロセス後、開回路電圧および容量に10%未満の変化を与える、請求項35の方法。
- 前記内蔵プロセスが射出成形プロセスを含み、前記電池が前記射出成形プロセス後、開回路電圧および容量に10%未満の変化を与える、請求項33の方法。
- 少なくとも200℃の温度および少なくとも6.895MPaの圧力が前記射出成形プロセスに用いられる、請求項37の方法。
- 前記温度が少なくとも250Cであり、圧力が少なくとも34.474MPaである、請求項38の方法。
- 前記陰極がリチウムイオン挿入材料を含む、請求項33の方法。
- 前記陰極がリチウム金属を含む、請求項33の方法。
- 前記陽極が挿入材料と混合したイオン導電性ポリマー結合材を含む、請求項33の方法。
- 前記ポリマー結合材が少なくとも1つのポリイミドを含む、請求項42の方法。
- 前記電池が、前記陽極上に配置された前記PMEである第一の層と前記陰極である第二の層、2つだけの層を積層して形成される、請求項33の方法。
- 前記電池が二セルである、請求項33の方法。
- 電池がパッケージされた電池であり、電池がさらに、パッケージされた電池を樹脂層に結合するために、前記パッケージされた電池と樹脂層の間に配置される外部結合接着剤を含み、外部結合接着剤は少なくとも100℃の温度で活性化される、請求項33の方法。
