[Also in Division F2] Mechanism for counterbalancing an overhead door comprises an arm or lever 22 adapted to turn about a pivot 23 fixed to the door frame 14, the arm or lever having an integral cranked end, and an extension or compression spring 27, one end of which is adapted to be connected to the door frame and the other end of which is provided with a hook engaged in an aperture in the cranked end. The aperture may be fitted with a revolving sleeve or bush 26. The hook may be integral with the spring or may have a screw threaded shank engaged in a nut rotatably mounted in a plug fitted into the end of the spring so that the spring tension can be adjusted. A rubber stop 29 fixed to the door frame arrests the movement of the arm or lever in the fully open position of the door.
