Abstract

926,609. Hinges. CHRYSLER CORPORATION. Sept. 27, 1961 [Oct. 6, 1960], No. 34635/61. Class 65 (2). A hinge, particularly for a motor vehicle door, comprises a pair of hinge members 14, 22, pivotally connected at 44, the member 22 being provided with a cam surface 26 which is engaged by a follower 66 on the end of an arm 62 integral with a torsion rod 54 the other end of which is anchored to the member 14. Preferably the follower 66 is a roller, the cam surface being formed with a number of shoulders 28, 30 which co-operate with the roller to hold the hinge in various open positions. Cooperating stops 34, 48 on the members limit the opening of the hinge.
