Abstract

710,661. Belt conveyer rope drives. CHEETHAM. S., and MARSHALL, D. D. Nov. 18, 1952 [Nov. 19, 1951], No. 27058/51. Class 78 (1) In an endless belt conveyer the belt a of which is driven by at least one rope e which passes over supporting rollers d directly beneath said belt, the rope towards each end of the conveyer is brought to a side of the belt by guiding pulleys h, i and j and returned to come beneath the other length k of the belt so that both upper and lower lengths of the belt are driven by the rope beneath them. As shown, a pair of ropes e is provided and corresponding pulleys h, i and j are provided at each end of the conveyer. The lower length k of the belt is provided with rollers m similar to the rollers d supporting the upper length a. Specification 569,629 is referred to.
