Abstract

549,067. Belt conveyers. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and RAPLEY, H. H. Sept. 1, 1941, No. 11159. [Class 78 (i)] A newspaper conveyer in which the papers are gripped between belts is provided with a free running diverter belt movable into alternative positions to direct the stream of papers on either side of itself into either of two courses. The stream of papers passing between conveyers 17 is diverted along either of the conveyers 10 by the free running diverter belting 1 running over fixed pulleys 2, 3 and over a pulley 4 mounted on an arm 13 so that it may be moved to the right as shown (when the papers pass to the left conveyer 10) or to the left. The conveyer belts 6, 7, one or other of which drives frictionally the non-driven belt 1, run over corner pulleys 8, 9 which are each rendered self tensioning by a link connection to the appropriate pulley 16.
