Abstract

786,337. Fork lift trucks. LEVERSTART, Ltd., and SWEET, C. W. Aug. 12, 1955 [Aug. 16, 1954], No. 23819/54. Class 78(3). In a fork truck the carriage 25 is moved to the top of a two or three section guide mast 11, 13, 38 by a pair of endless chains 24 passing around spaced sets of sprockets 20, 19, 40, 41, 21, 22, 23 and driven by sprockets 29. Further jockey sprockets 28, 30, 31 are provided to maintain tension in the chains. Catch means (not shown) is provided to prevent movement of the mast sections 13, 38 before the carriage reaches abutment 37. The chains and sprockets may be replaced by cables and pulleys. Specifications 786,338 and 786,339, [both in Group XXIV], are referred to.
