644,884. Roof construction. GLOVER, C. W. Sept. 29, 1947, No. 26305. [Class 20(iv)] Reinforced concrete roof truss rafters have notched upper surfaces to retain tiles in position. Rafters 1 and ties 2 secured together by bolts 16 and spaced at 18 with centres are notched to fit on top of wall plates 3. Tiles 6 rest above ledges provided by fibre or plaster insulating boards 5 held in position by the notches 4. At the ridge, the rafters are shaped to fit against a ridge piece 7 with a bulb base 8 and are fixed to it by dowels 10 driven through the holes 9. In the case of heavy tiling, an aluminium strip 13 with tongues 14, 15 which rest on top of one lining board and support the neighbouring one, may be used.
