Abstract
627,931. Roofs; ceilings; floors. HAMILTON, H. A. Aug. 14, 1947, No. 22599. Convention date, Nov. 25, 1946. [Class 20 (iv)] A concrete or like rafter is provided with spaced projections 1c, Fig. 1, on its upper face with pins 6 embedded therein and projecting therefrom parallel to the upper face of the rafter. Transverse wooden battens 5 are secured to the pins by being driven thereon simultaneously with blows imparted to pointed clips 8 pivoted in holes 8 on the rafters adjacent the projections. The lower ends of the rafters are positioned in grooves 2a, Fig. 2, on the surface of special blocks 2 at the top of the walls. These blocks are shaped at 2c to conform to the pitch of the roof and are provided with flanges 2f serving as facias and with grooves 2d to receive the gutter 4. Joists 9 shaped at their ends to the pitch of the roof and having portions 9a received in the grooves 2a are also provided; these joists have longitudinal flanges 9c from which hangers 10, Fig. 3, supporting ceiling slabs 11 are suspended. Floor blocks may also be supported on the flanges of the joists and the floor blocks may be covered with a concrete layer.
