Abstract
634,487. Grinding mills. WEBB, J. W. Jan.23, 1948, Nos. 2074 and 15764. [Class 59] A grinding mill such as a hammer mill is provided with means by which it can be attached to the links of the power lift of an agricultural tractor so that the mill can be driven from the power pulley of the tractor and, if necessary, transported from one place to another by the tractor. A mill C, Fig. 2, is mounted on a baseplate D which carries two lower brackets d<SP>3</SP> to which the two lower links B of the hydraulic lift of a tractor A are pivoted, and an upper bracket d<SP>4</SP> to which an upper link B<SP>1</SP>, of adjustable length, of the hydraulic lift is pivoted. The mill is driven from a power pulley A<SP>1</SP> of the tractor through a belt a<SP>2</SP>, pulleys d', d<SP>2</SP> on a counter-shaft D<SP>1</SP> mounted on the base-plate D, a belt c<SP>2</SP>, and a pulley c. In a modification, Fig. 3, the links B, B' are connected to brackets e', e<SP>2</SP> respectively on the mill casing, and the pulley c is driven directly from the power pulley A<SP>1</SP> by the belt a<SP>2</SP>. The links B have pins e<SP>3</SP> adjustably positioned in slots in the brackets e'. A diagonal stay of adjustable length is pivoted at one end to the tractor end of a link B and at the other end to the pin e<SP>3</SP> on the other link B.
