602,633. Hasp fastenings. ASSELT, G. J. VAN, and LIGTHART, H. K. Oct. 17, 1945, No. 27200. Convention date, Oct. 8, 1941. [Class 44] In a hasp fastening of the type comprising a base plate with a locking arm pivotally connected thereto, and a catch plate with a hook adapted to receive the locking arm, the base plate 1 has a pair of lugs 3 spaced apart to receive the locking arm 6 between them, the pivot pin 5 bridging the lugs 3 engages in a slot 7 in the arm 6, and the edge of the catch plate 2 is folded over to form hooks 10, 11, with a slot 8 between them into which fit the lugs 3 of the base plate 1, so that the locking arm 6 may be turned to engage within the hook 11 on one side of the slot 8, and may then slide longitudinally to engage both hooked parts of the catch plate. The base plate 1 may consist of two parts hinged together.
