Abstract

480,884. Multiple fastenings. WELLS, S. C. Oct. 14, 1936, No. 27929. [Class 44] A fastening for wardrobe trunks, furniture, &c. comprises a slidable bar 1 operated by rotation of a pivoted hasp bar 3, through an arm 2 on the hasp pivot having pivotal connection with an offset arm 4 on the bar, movement of the bar in one direction operating pivoted hooks 5 into engagement with eyes 7 to secure the lid &c. whilst movement in the opposite direction engages one end of the bar, and hooks 9 on the bar, with stops 10 on the drawers 11 or other internal fittings to secure said fittings when the lid is released. The hasp comprises two parts hinged together and its free end may be engaged with and locked in either of two sockets 8, 12 provided respectively on the lid and body of the trunk &c. The hook members are suitably curved to facilitate engagement and give a cam action.
