Abstract

739,206. Coat hangers. TWINCO, Ltd. July 2, 1954 [July 2, 1953], No. 18327/53. Class 52 (5). A coat hanger comprises mutually hinged shoulder parts 10, 11 foldable to bring brush members on the underside of each part side by side, the hinge pin 14 being extended to form a suspension hook 15 and being axially slidable to move a locking member 19, on the end of the pin remote from the hook, into or out of engagement with a recess 20 in the parts 10, 11, the recess being completed and engageable by the member 19, only when the parts 10, 11 are opened out to form a hanger. The parts 10, 11 are moulded units with beaded edges 17 and staggered hinge elements 12, 13 on one face and one part may be provided with a projecting lug engaging between the beaded edges of the other part when the parts are folded to form a brush. According to the Provisional Specification, a second recess is provided to co-operate with the member 19 to lock the parts in the folded position.
