Abstract
411,621. Hasp fastenings. PEEL, A. L., 23, Somerset Road, Handsworth Wood, Birmingham. March 15, 1933, No. 7805. Addition to 343,222. [Class 44.] A fastening, of the type described in the parent Specification, for attachÚ cases and the like, has two intermediate members f, e connected between the hand lever a and the link h which engages the lug on the second part of the fastening. The adjoining ends of the arms f, e are pivoted together, and the arm e slides under the mount c the end of which is beaded to cause the link h to swing outwardly when it is disengaged from the lug. The lever a and the mount c are of box form so that the members f, e are concealed when the parts are in the closed position as shown in Fig. 1. The link member e consists of two flat plates e<4>, Fig. 4, and the lever member f has two plates f <2> rigidly coupled by a bridge piece f <3>, Fig. 10. In a modification the hand lever a swings in a gap in a casing while the members e, f, work in the casing. In another modification the link h is of hook form as shown in Fig. 12 ; the hand lever a is of box construction and joins the surface of the hook h so that the members e, f are entirely hidden in the closed position. The hand lever may be held in its closed position by a key-operated lock.
