Abstract
518,164. Spray carburetters. TACCONI, G. May 17, .1938, No. 14748. Convention date, May 22, 1937. [Class 7 (iii)] Both the static and dynamic pressures of the air entering, past a throttle b are transmitted to the float chamber m through a tube h, while the fuel from a jet l at the bottom of the float chamber is led into the choke tube by a tube i directed away from the flow of incoming air. A supercharger z is preferably provided, and the discharge pressure thereof is communicated by a tube t to a device n compensating for changes in altitude. A piston o in the device n is pressed to the left by a spring so as to close on to a valve u. When the supercharger delivery reaches a certain pressure the piston o is moved to the right, thereby opening the valve u and allowing the pressure from the tube t to flow through a port s into the float chamber, so as to increase the flow of fuel through the jet l and tube i.
