Abstract

449,098. Sliding - clasp fastenings. GREENSTEIN, I. E., 5, Carnarvon Road, Southend-on-Sea. Feb. 1, 1935, No. 3299. [Class 44] The final two or three elements on each stringer tape of a completely separable sliding- clasp fastener are supported against any straining movement along the tapes by means of spacers between the elements such spacers being formed by the metal left between horizontal slots in a sheet metal plate which is doubled over the stringer tape. For instance the pin and socket separable end member 4, 3, which are formed by folding sheet metal blanks, may have their plate portions 7 extended and formed with spacing fingers 6 to lie between the elements 2. The near portions of the tapes may be stiffened with sizing so as to facilitate the movement of the slider at the start. Specification 391,216 is referred to.
