Abstract

415,397. Sliding - clasp fastenings. MULLER, R., 39, Honselerstrasse, L³denscheid, Westphalia, Germany. Feb. 16, 1933, No. 4702. [Class 44.] To prevent a closed sliding-clasp fastener being splayed open at the end remote from the slider a U-shaped member 9 is provided adjacent the bottom element on one stringer and a co-operating member 10 similarly positioned on the other stringer enters between the legs. The limbs of these members are approximately of the size and spacing of the elements on the stringers. The stringers can be completely separated, after being opened by the slider, by a stop member 12 retaining the slider on the stringer 1 while the stringer 2 fitted with a metal end 11 is drawn out of the slider. Fig. 4 shows an alternative form of the end members 9, 10 ; the member 9 is adapted to act also as an end stop being slightly lengthened and so butting on the interior wedge of the slider.
