Abstract
425,528. Positive - driving bands. COLLETTE, M., Porte de Liege, Waremme, Belgium. Sept. 15, 1934, No. 26565. [Class 80 (i)] [See also Groups XXV and XXX] One or more flexible links 11, Fig. 1, of sheet steel &c., are connected together in series by tubular members 12 having diametrically opposite slots, the links 11 having stop pieces formed on or secured to their ends and engaging the inner surface of the tubular members. Preferably the links have a clearance in the slots, and the stop pieces are curved or knife-edged so as to permit some degree of articulation, as shown in Fig. 7. Lateral displacement of the stop pieces in the members 12 is prevented by solid or tubular plugs 16, 17, 18, Fig. 2 secured by pins 19. In a modification shown in Fig. 9, the links 11 are connected to half-round bars 30 which are connected in pairs by a two-part tubular member 32 assembled by bolts 34. The transverse members 12, 32 act also as driving members by engaging slots 37, Fig. 1 in the periphery of a driving pulley 36.
