[Class 84] [See also Group XXIX] In a non-suspended milking-machine, the milk receptacle 15 is connected to the teat cups 17 by a suction or milk hose 16 leading from a nipple 22 on the lid 20 of the receptacle 15 to a nipple 3 on a claw 1, the nipple 3 leading to a main passage 2 from which branch passages 4 run to four nipples 5 to which are attached tubes 18, leading to the teat cups 17, the claw 1 having a cock 9 by which the main conduit 16 can be shut off in the vicinity of the teat cups. To retain the plug 9 of the cock in position a washer 10 is held in position thereon by a spring 11 and is located beneath a stop 12. The washer 10 has a recess 13 and the plug 9 a recess 14 which can be aligned with stop 12 when the plug is to be removed. The nipples 5 are inclined and the pair of tubes 18 nearer the hose 16 are longer than the other pair so that the nipples 5 will occupy a vertical position when the claw is inclined owing to the weight of hose 16. The claw 1 has a pair of passages 6 each with a nipple 7 to which tubes 19 leading to the pulsator are attached, and with a pair of nipples 8 to which pulsation tubes 21 leading to the teat cups 17 are secured.
