Abstract

203,881. Taylor, J. Aug. 29, 1922. Cow - milkers. - A vacuum milking-apparatus comprises a claw wherein one pair of teat cups 26 is connected to one pipe 23 and the other pair 25 is connected to a second pipe 22, and the two pipes 22, 23 are connected to a control device arranged so as to transfer the suction alternately from one to the other pair. As shown, the teat cups are arranged diagonally and cross-connected by pipes 24, 28 to prevent either pair of teat cups from falling off when the corresponding pipe is not in suction. The control device consists of a slide valve reciprocating over two ports connected to the pipes 22, 23; it closes one port and connects the other to a central port on the main milk pipe. The teat cups consists of tapering single casing with rubber mouthpieces and orifices near their upper ends.
