Abstract
409,517. Cow-milkers. BURRY, H. W., Staple Cross Farm, Burton, Christchurch, Hampshire. May 25, 1933, No. 15156. [Class 84.] In a teat cup for a milking-machine of the kind comprising a resilient liner 14 held under tension in an outer rigid shell 10, the liner is provided with an integral milk pipe 15 and is secured in an adjustable manner at both ends of the shell so that the tension applied to the liner can be varied by displacement of either or both ends of the liner relative to the shell. The shell 10 is provided at the upper end with an annular flange 11 over which a portion of the enlarged upper end 14<a> of the liner is folded and secured by a flanged rubber ring 19. The lower extremity of the shell 10 is provided with a neck 12, and the lower extremity of the liner 14, or the upper portion of the milk pipe 15, is thickened and provided with a number of spaced annular grooves 17, a rubber ring 18 engaged in one or other of the grooves 17 and bearing against the neck 12 acting to hold the liner under tension and to seal the chamber 20.
