Abstract

341,040. Cow - milkers. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Fleminggatan, Stockholm. Oct. 7, 1929, No. 30359. Convention date, Oct. 12, 1928. [Class 84.] In a vacuum milking-machine, the motor and the air pump are arranged in a chamber formed on, or attached to the bottom of the milkcollecting vessel. As shown, a casing 3 is detachably secured to the bottom of the collecting vessel 1 and is divided into three compartments, viz. a central compartment 6 containing a motor 4 directly coupled to an air pump 5, a compartment 7 in which moisture sucked in from the teat cups collects, and a compartment 8 in which oil from the air discharged from the pump collects. The teat cups are connected to the cover 2 of the vessel 1 which is coupled by a tube 18 to a conduit 17 connected to the compartment 7. The air pump 5 is connected to the compartment 7 by a tube 10 ending in an annular horizontal channel which is closed bv a float valve 9 when the moisture in the chamber 7 reaches a pre-determined level. The bottom of the compartment 8 is arranged at such a level that oil collecting therein is returned to the pump through a pipe 14. Baffles may be provided in the compartments 7 and 8, and a safety valve 16 in the compartment 6. The conduit 17 is provided with a hook 19 upon which the cover 2 and the teat cups, together with their milk and suction pipes, can be hung while the vessel 1 is being emptied.
