Abstract
405,216. Hook fastenings. ABRAHAM, J. W., and TUSTAIN, E. H., 231, Cecil Chambers, Strand, London. Aug. 24, 1933, No. 23574. [Class 44.] A motor-car bonnet fastening consists of a hook member 7 tiltably mounted in an actuating member 4 which slides in a housing 1 secured to the bonnet. When the actuating member 4 is depressed against a spring 8 by pressure on its head 5a, a projection 7c on the hook member 7 engages with the top of the housing 1 and tilts the hook to the position shown in dotted lines ; the bonnet may then be raised by a handle extension 7d on the projection 7c or by a handle on the housing. The spring 8 serves also to return the hook to the. full line position by co-operation with a shoulder 7b. The hook member may be pivoted on a pin 6 or loosely mounted in the actuating member. A pin 7e prevents withdrawal of the actuating member from the housing.
