Abstract

391,224. Suit-cases &c. FRENCHS, Ltd. and HAWES, A. B., 32, Moor Lane, London. Oct. 23, 1931, No. 29458. [Class 18.] A suit or like case is provided with a wheel 5 mounted on and parallel to one arm of an L-shaped bracket 1 which is hingedly attached to a rod 2 mounted at an end of the case, the arrangement being such that when not in use the wheel can be turned to lie in a recess 9 formed in the adjacent wall, a retaining strap 10 being provided. The wheel is held in the operative position by a spring catch 7 engaging a pressed-out opening 8 in the bracket; on release of the catch the wheel is returned to the inoperative position by the action of a spring 12. A pair of wheels may be provided, mounted either on a single bracket or independently.
