Abstract

437,987. Road - traffic signals on vehicles. OSHEI, W. E., and TRICO-FOLBERTH, Ltd., Great West Road, Brentford, Middlesex. Aug. 27, 1934, No. 24676. [Class 118 (ii)] A semaphore arm comprises two relatively movable parts so that when the arm is locked one part is held and the other can be swung out by hand. As shown in Fig. 1, the arm comprises the two parts 10, 18 which are both pivoted about 22 and are held in normal position by spring 24. The arm is normally locked by the operating member 15 and when so locked the lower portion 10 of the arm can be swung out by hand against the pull of spring 24 as shown in Figs. 4 and 5. When the arm is lifted by hand it presses on and opens the spring 27 and so maintains it in good working order. The arm may be hinged as shown at 35 in Fig. 6, the two parts being normally held by spring clip 36. Specification 435,803 is referred to.
