Abstract
371,363. Fluid-pressure brakes. GOUMOENS (nÚe BOUCHARD), J., Villa LÞman, Sciez, Haute-Savoie, France. Jan. 20, 1931, No. 1875. Convention date, Jan. 21, 1930. [Class 103 (i).] An electrically-operated valve 7 for connecting an internal combustion engine cylinder to a reservoir to supply the reservoir with compressed air which may be used for operating brakes may be de-energized to open the valve by depression of the brake pedal. The valve circuit is preferably closed and opened simultaneously with the engine ignition circuit but the brake pedal may break the valve circuit without affecting the ignition circuit. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) the pressure at which the air is admitted to the reservoir is regulated by a spring. Further the valves may be mechanically operated by the brake pedal, with provision for lost motion so that a partial braking takes place before the valves are operated. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
