Abstract

305,001. Hemmingsen, T. V. July 26, 1928. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In a two-stroke cycle Diesel engine having a working piston 1 and an exhaust port controlling piston 2 moving in opposite directions, the surface 7 connecting the cylinders 3, 4 is rounded and fitted with fuel injectors 8 set at such an angle that the injected fuel follows the rotating path imparted to the scavenging and combustion air entering through the obliquely-disposed ports 5. The piston 2 ends in a projection 13 which may be opposed by a similar projection 12 from the working piston, giving the combustion chamber an annular form.
