Abstract

370,306. Endless chain conveyers. SIMONSSON, W., Halsingborg, Sweden. Aug. 20, 1931, No. 23493. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1930. [Class 78 (i).] In conveyer chains of the type which have alternate pivot pins at right-angles, the alternate links 1, Fig. 1, consist of an integral member having a boss 1a, two side prongs 1b, a crossbar 1c joining the ends of the prongs and at right-angles to the axis of the boss 1a, and external bosses 1d in line with the bar 1c. The connecting links 2, Fig. 4, are U-shaped, the bend engaging the cross-bar of one link member 1, and the free ends being connected to the boss 1a of the adjacent link by a tubular pin 3 which may be riveted at its ends or threaded as shown. The link member 1 may have a reinforcing web 1f, and the cross-bar 1c may have circumferential grooves 1g. The bosses 1d may be semicircular in shape and coact with the driving and guiding means. The carrier plates, in the construction described, are circular discs 4, Fig. 9, with crescent-shaped recesses 5 into which the periphery of the adjacent disc fits to allow relative turning movements. The discs are carried on pins 6 secured in the tubular pivot pins, and have projections on their undersides adapted to engage with the upper part of the link 2 to prevent movement relative thereto.
