Abstract
543,982. Driving chains. DIAMOND CHAIN & MANUFACTURING CO. Sept. 17, 1940, No. 14267. Convention date, Oct 14, 1939. [Class 24] In multi - strand chains, each strand of which consists of pairs of inner links 10 pressed on bushes 11 preferably carrying rollers 12, and connected by side links 15 and joint pins with a press fit therein, the pins are formed in sections so that they pass through one strand at least completely and abut at an intermediate point of an adjacent strand. As shown, the pins comprise a short section 17 passing through one strand and half-way through the adjacent strand, an intermediate section 18 passing through one strand and half-way through each adjacent strand, and a long section 19 passing through two adjacent strands and half-way through a third. Preferably the pin sections are staggered, and the ends at the sides of the chain are riveted.
